FAQ

Does this website include every room in the Hudson house?

Yes! The prototype (of the center hall) became public in July, 2017.  In January, 2019 all rooms in the Hudson House became visible and searchable.   Please continue to check back in the future for updates and curated online tours.

I see in the Hudson house timeline that there were tours of the home offered in 1991 and 1997. Is it still possible to visit the house?

While the first-floor of the Hudson house was part of a tour of historic houses during two weekends in 1991 and again in 1997, it is a private space only and does not accept visitors.

Are there related artists’ houses nearby?

Yes.  Olana, the Hudson River School painter, Frederic Church’s nineteenth-century estate, is about ten minutes from Hudson and is a New York State Historical site. Church’s teacher, Thomas Cole, also has a house and museum close by in the Catskills.
